Data Principles - Beta

You the whānau own your data, we Whare Hauora are  Kaitiaki (guardians) of your data. We will never, sell out our people.

These are our principles and they're in beta because we need your input.

This is a living document, that will morph and change as we talk through issues and needs and our people tell us we are missing something or doing well.

As always talking will help us do better. So lets talk.

 

 

 

Principle one
Purpose of the collection of information - we only collect personal information if we really need it. We will explain why we need it

Principle two
Storage and security of personal information - we will take care of it once you've got it and protect it against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure and other misuse.

Principle three
Unique identifiers - we only assign unique identifiers when needed - unique identifiers will be encrypted in transit

Principle four
Access and correction to personal information - Under the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to access and to request correction of any of your personal information provided

Principle five
Deletion of personal information - You can also request the deletion of your personal information.

Note: When we have 10 or more homes in a suburb we release the aggregate temperature, humidity and dew point for the suburb. We ask that we keep your readings data and suburb so that we can continue to provide open data with more data points.
