Our approach comes from kaupapa Māori: data is taonga, held with care and accountable to the people it's about.

We carry that same care across governance, operations and the technology your kaimahi use every day, including AI: what it's for, what it can see, how it's governed, and what your people need to use it well. The aim is systems that run on your own trusted information, lighten the load and stay yours, with AI used only where it's needed and only within your pou.

That work has to be understood end to end. It's what we do.

Where Whare Hauora comes from

Whare Hauora started as a community kaupapa — sensors that made the cold, damp conditions inside whānau homes visible enough to act on.

The stance on data was kaitiaki from day one: the data belongs to the whānau. Whare Hauora looks after it — it doesn't own it, and it doesn't decide for them. That principle still runs through every engagement.

The kaupapa has grown from healthy homes into data strategy, governance and systems work for health, regulated and kaupapa Māori organisations. The through-line hasn't changed: make the hidden visible, so people can act on it.
